Sappho for Equality, through this academy, aims to discuss with participants an intersectional understanding of gender-sexuality, through a historical as well as contemporary lens. For example, we will discuss gender-sexuality issues through the state, religion, caste, body and mind, disability, livelihood, morality-immorality, law, and contemporary movements.

Jounatar Pathshala / Sexuality Academy is inviting applications from interested persons (students and professionals involved with the development sector as well as academia), between ages 20-35, who are willing to spend six days discussing, learning, unlearning and connecting with peers around gender-sexuality issues. This academy will take place outside Kolkata so it is mandatory for the participants to stay for all six days. As language of instruction will be Bangla, so knowledge of Bangla is required along with workable knowledge in English. There is no course fee. Certificates will be provided on successful completion of the course.
