Economic Justice and Accessing Entitlements
Since 2014, it has been a legal journey of 11 years, across which various laws and enactments have been passed, keeping the welfare of the LGBTQIA+ community in mind. It is time that we as a community, know where we stand in terms of accessing these schemes. This is a report on a study on a study which attempts to evaluate the existing welfare schemes and policies that have been drafted foor transgender persons in India by analysing the central SMILE (Support for Marginalised Individuals Livelihood & Enterprise) initiative, and initiatives which were drafted by respective state governments from before and during the NALSA judgement 2014.
