New endeavour of Sappho for Equality, ‘Porshi’ - a training center with canteen (Qanteen) facilities.
'Porshi' is a safe space for Queer Trans community. It enables an initiative where
we would conduct various training programs, starting from livelihood generation,
skill building and other such organic initiatives exclusively for and by Queer
Trans persons who are marginalized on an everyday basis in this heteronormative world.
The Qanteen
vouches to manage common Bengali cuisine and delectables, mellowed with a
western tarka in it at times. The food catalog is designed with minimal charges
so that Queer Trans* People who belong from various class, caste and other
locations can subscribe to the enjoyment of a non-heteronormative space for
fun, frolic and more. A Queer library accompanied with the history of LGBTQIA+
movement is framed on the walls of ‘Porshi’, marking the need to continue our
battles on an everyday basis.
‘Porshi’
would also engage itself as a space for creative expressions of Queer Trans
artists and would be open all day for them to venture.
