NATIONAL LESBIANS, BISEXUAL AND TRANSPERSONS' MEET

Sappho for Equality planned and executed a national meet with collectives and individuals across the country who had been fighting against discrimination and violence against LBT persons.

In that unique coming together of individuals and organisations, the gathering spoke about organisational strategies and resource building, changing issues for movements, relationships between organisations and the communities they came out of, relationships between movement and funding. All participants came from diverse backgrounds with their own understanding of what political organising means. However, this very diversity resulted in the same group of people exchanging local terminologies, categories and their creative re-definitions of differing regional experiences. A plan to start a loose LBT network was taken up by the participants at the end.
